chip chop cherrio from London
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: From London
I've been having such a great time in London these past three days with my dear old friends June and daughter Michelle Bladon (my parents and I met the Bladon family some 26 years ago at a hotel in Palm Springs and my mum and June are contempories and have been very close friends ever since) My last visit with them in London was in '86 during my first backpacking tour around Europe.

June, Michelle and Michelle's boyfriend Pasquale have been taking me up royally, and we've had such a nice time catching up. June is a an absolutely fabulous chef and baker, and I've been a good customer... the desserts have been to die for... homemade merengue with fresh cream and rasberries, Christmas minced pies, triffle, tasty pasta and salads, delectable hors d'oevrs. Thanks to June's culinary abilities and my healthy appetite, the 2-3 pounds that I lost in my last week of pre-travel stomach upset, has certainly been regained... darn it.

Besides eating myself silly, I've also gotten to taste a bit of the London sites... walking arm in arm (very British), June and I hit Marks and Spencer, Mothercare (baby wear) and some other shoppes and I got a full dose of London after Christmas sale insanity... We've also enjoyed the British soaps on the tele, spending an evening drinking mulled wine and watching ice skaters at Hampton Court Palace, and today I went into downtown London to visit the Tate Modern Museum and take in the city. It's been a great few days, but I can't stay any longer or I would risk doubling my size. So, I'll be heading off tomorrow for Kaz and to meet The Baby.

Well, I need to tally ho for now.

Bloody good night,

Genice
